Retail Shift Manager
Job Description
The basic function of an Andia’s Retail Shift Manager is to be the primary leader on a shift and hold the shop up to the Andia’s brand standards by embodying our Core Values inside and outside of work.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18+ years old
- Must be able to float between all our retail locations
- Ability to multi-task and work on projects simultaneously
- Dedication to impacting results...with a "whatever it takes" attitude
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Availability to work a minimum of 3 shifts a week, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays. Shifts are the same every week and change seasonally
- Must have a reliable mode of transportation to and from work
- Availability to attend mandatory biweekly manager meetings on Saturday mornings & one-on-one meetings once a month
- Excellent communication skills on and off shifts with your team and upper management
Tasks & Responsibilities
As the Retail Shift Manager, you are responsible for the following tasks.
- Managing a team of 20+ employees
- Assisting in training and development of new hires
- Cash handling and reporting
- Ensuring Core Values are upheld by team
- Ensuring highest standard of guest service
- Meeting and exceeding all aspects of health and safety of the team
- Serving as a role model on the team--both behind the counter and behind the scenes
- Upholding our Policy Handbook by having disciplinary conversations with team members as necessary
- Offering exceptional availability & sticking to a consistent weekly schedule
- Excelling in mature, professional, prompt communication between the staff and leadership–both inside and outside of work
- Leading/guiding/redirecting the Senior Scoopers & whole team in keeping the shop and guest service up to the Andia’s brand standard
- Working with the Senior Scoopers to keep all waffle items stocked
- Monitoring shop cleanliness both behind and in front of the counter
- Torching any items as needed
- Sending home team members when slow
- Telling team members to clock in early
- Handling difficult guest situations
- Taking supply & ice cream inventory at closing
- Closing both drawers at closing
- Excelling at the Scooper position in addition to the Manager position
- Taking over the tasks of a Senior Scooper in their absence
- Opening/closing the shop and locking it up safely
- Meeting biweekly with the rest of the management team
- Meeting monthly one-on-one with the District Manager
