Our Story

When Andia Xouris's husband George suggested opening an ice cream shop in 2012, she knew nothing about making ice cream. What she did know was that if they were going to do it, she'd have to master the craft. This determination led her to travel the world, studying under some of the industry's finest ice cream chefs.
Growing up in a traditional Greek home, Andia learned to cook and bake from scratch alongside her entrepreneurial father, who built a successful food distribution business after immigrating from Cyprus. His dedication and business savvy inspired Andia's own entrepreneurial journey, and she strives to honor his legacy through her business.
Over a decade later, Andia's Ice Cream has blossomed into a beloved brand with four retail locations across the Raleigh-Durham area. Our signature Monster Shakes began as a fun monthly special and have evolved into an iconic treat that draws lines down the block, with guests eagerly waiting to experience our brûlée cups and signature flavors like Baklava, Rose Pistachio, and Malted Twix.

Meet Andia
Andia Xouris is a two-time Grand Master Ice Cream Maker title winner—one of only four in the country and the only woman to hold this distinction in the South/Southeast region. This prestigious title reflects her extraordinary dedication to perfection, with her French Vanilla and Double Dark Chocolate consistently earning National Blue Ribbons.
Born in the small village of Deftera, Cyprus, Andia brings her Greek heritage and passion for handcrafted quality to every scoop. Her innovative creations have earned remarkable recognition, including USA Today's Top Ten Ice Cream Shop (2023-2024), Best Ice Cream in the U.S., and Good Morning America's Best Milkshakes in the Country.
In 2024, her Mango Jalapeño Margarita was named Best New Ice Cream Flavor in the Country, adding to an impressive collection of accolades that includes her Butter Toffee Popcorn being named Second Best Flavor of the Year Nationally in 2023.
When she's not dreaming up delicious new flavors in R&D (her favorite part of the job), Andia enjoys cooking for family and friends, traveling the world, and maintaining her cherished morning routine of journaling, meditation, and gratitude practice.
